I’m one of the few lucky people in the world who grew up to be exactly what they wanted to be. When I was little I wanted to write books, draw pictures and be a teacher. And that’s what I do for a living - not in exactly the way my little mind envisaged - there’s a fair bit more fabric involved than I ever could have guessed. Why I love books - part 1
My entire childhood, I dreamed of writing a book. At the age of three I could read words out of the newspaper to my mother. It’s one of my first memories, sitting on the kitchen step reading out the ones I knew while she stirred something on the stove, my baby brother on her hip. I would staple pages of folded craft paper and write little stories on the pages and illustrate the blanks between. Continue reading

I love to embroider as well as to quilt! I have been hand embroidering ever since I was a little girl. The sketch for my Merry and Bright Christmas Tree Skirt Block of the Month just seemed to be crying out to be embroidered as well as quilted!
