Hi everyone!
I hope your Christmas preparations are going along smoothly and that you are feeling festive and not fatigued! I myself have decided at the last minute to make three Jingle Bell Stockings for family members as gifts, so I need to get those on the go. I'll post them when they're finished - if they're finished :D I have a very very bad habit of totally overcommitting myself at Christmas time, and then getting into a terrible flap trying to get it all done. I am determined not to do that this year, but as I have decided to hand block print all my gift wrapping paper, I don't like my chances much do you? Seriously....
Anyway I digress. Thank you to everyone who has participated in my Christmas Sew-a-long, and posted such gorgeous projects online. If you have made something using one of the patterns don't forget to show me - I would love to see, even though the offical "competition" part is over. Speaking of that, I entered everyone who posted their pictures on social media or emailed me a progress photo, put all the names in a barrel for the number of times they posted, and the winner is....
Wendy Welsh!
Wendy made the Jingle Bell Stocking for herself, and when her husband saw how good (read big - it's a roomy one!) it was, he wanted one too! A happy accident meant that Wendy had fused batting to the wrong piece of fabric when making hers, so that became the front of her husband's stocking. A little hand quilting and she had completed two instead of one. Bonus!
Congrats Wendy, you did a beautiful job of both your stockings and a prize pack is on its way to you in Santa's quilty sleigh.
It's not too late to stitch up a Jingle Bell Stocking - or some of the Fabric Baubles, they're so quick to make, and a set would make a lovely gift. Speaking of gifts, in the next few days I'm going to post some excellent fast and quick gifts to make from some of my patterns. Stay tuned, its not too late to whip up a handmade something for that special someone.
