I love a good fan, or Dresden plate, or wagon wheel—after a star, it’s my favorite shape in quilting. A wedge is such a versatile shape, and can be assembled in so many ways! Here it’s used to great effect to create the swirling shapes of the fans, which are echoed in the machine quilting.
