The striking solid colors and satins of the original quilt make a wonderfully strong design but I wanted to achieve the pattern with prints. All the fabrics in this quilt are lawns from Liberty of London. I began with a pile of fabrics I loved, separated them into light and dark, and then culled any I felt were reading as medium.
I have used a wide range of different prints here. If you’d like your quilt to look as scrappy as mine, you will need less yardage of more prints than specified in the material requirements. There are five light and five dark fabrics in each of the thirty-six blocks, so potentially 360 different light and dark fabrics! Try swapping some prints with friends to achieve a bigger selection.
