I am lucky enough to live next door to a man who once owned a beautiful men’s clothing shop in Sydney. They made their own business shirts in a rainbow of Italian cotton, the kind of place where you go in and everything is stacked in mouthwatering rainbows of crisp and delicious colors. One afternoon, Dick came walking up our driveway carrying two huge bags, both full to the brim with shirting off-cuts for me to play with. This quilt is just one of the many that I’ve made from those bags, but I think it’s my favorite. Needless to say, Dick has a quilt of his own as a thank-you gift!
