A lovely friend of mine from quilting died after a long battle with cancer. Not long before she died, she made a quilt using this block, which we helped her with in the shop. I loved it at the time and when she died I wanted to create a quilt using the block to remember her. I didn't have a pattern for it so it took a bit of trial and error to make it up. I had some special fabrics given to me by other friends that I had been saving for a special project and they were just right for this. When I look at the quilt, I think of Robyn and remember all the pretty quilts she made for her friends and family. 

Instead of strawberries, you could choose some luscious florals to be showcased in the central stars.

Finished block size: 10 inches square including seam allowance
