Sunday — because this beautiful quilt has woven its quiet way through many Sundays at my house while have been hand-quilting.
As it is a large project, the quilting has taken a long time, but I have enjoyed every stitch, and watching the plain fabrics take on their own texture has been a little bit of quilting magic. This quilt was inspired, again, by an antique quilt, There is no way of knowing the size of the original, but even the drafting of the project was exciting as I saw that it would look just howl imagined.
Lone Star quilts are not easy. They require very exact piecing and careful cutting to avoid puckering and buckling at the centre! Take your time, check and re-check and let the rhythm of a project this size be its own reward.
